celebrating fall

It's been two months since Kandice went to be with the Lord. One of the things she taught me was to celebrate the little things, so today's post is a celebration of the little things I love about this new season of fall. While living in Italy, I realized how much I truly love fall, and here's why.

1. The clothing. Hoodies, light fun scarves, jackets, layers, I love all of it!

2. Football. Yes, I have grown to love football, and the best football is in the fall. Nothing beats watching a good football game in a hoodie with some friends.

3. Candy corn. One of the few things left in America that is truly seasonal. Mix it with peanuts for a true delight.

4. Cider. Need I say more? Hot, cold, mmmmmmmmmm....love it all round.

5. Leaves crunching underneath your feet. I love that sound.

6. The unpredictability of the weather. The nice days make you just love it outside, while the rainy ones let you curl up with a great book.

7. The cravings fall gives me to read Thomas Hardy, and how good reading Thomas Hardy feels when it's fall.

8. The smell of fires burning, either leaves or the first hearth fires of the season.

9. How blue the sky looks above the brilliant yellow and orange leaves.

10. Thanksgiving. The traditions, the family time, the specialness of the season, and the little break from school.
