I've learned a lesson the last two years: growth cannot happen without change. Change is good because it stretches and produces growth. Growth and change go hand in hand.
This has been hard for me, as I hate change. But as so many changes have happened to me--what side of the city I live on, how and where I teach, where I plan to be in five years, I see now that all this change happened so I could grow. None of the spiritual growth I've experienced the last few years would have happened without change.
This is a useful revelation to bear in mind as so much change awaits me within this next calendar year! More details on that later. But until then, I am trying to train my heart to embrace change rather than dread it.
