I'm off to Honduras on Saturday for six weeks. As I am preparing to go, I am anxious to see Honduras through my new "world-travelled" perspective: what I now notice, what new things jump out, and if any of my opinions on service have changed.
One thing that's ALREADY getting on my nerves is that when Dad called Sprint today, it turns out that even my "world" Blackberry phone which worked all over Europe, Turkey, Central Asia, and India, won't work in Honduras, due to differing technology and the country's frustrating lack of infrastructure. No data plans exist for Honduras. So my electronic communication will be severely cut while I am there. I will hopefully be able to check my email once or twice a week, but access to any sort of online communication will be severely limited. I'm sad about this, because I loved being able to still stay in touch with the world via my phone last semester. So if I don't respond quickly, it's because I'm isolated and remote, not because I don't care!
