Thailand is an open country. They don't block Facebook or have tight Internet controls, and you're not going to jail for assembling with others of your same belief. You don't need to watch what you say and write so closely.
So it's tempting to write Thailand off as an easier place to work than where I am. But in my time here I've had a revelation: it's politically free and open because the Adversary has this place locked up in other ways. You pass at least one spirit house per block, and there are temples with people bowing down before statues everywhere. Screwtape's boss' tactic here is not political bondage to keep people away from Truth, he has this country so blinded by the bling of temples and spirit houses that it would be overkill to stop them politically too.
I've really seen in these two weeks how creative the Adversary is in keeping people enslaved. Some places he uses temples and spirit houses. Other places he uses the soporific materialism and indifference prosperity brings. Still other places he uses censorship and tight political controls. In all places his aim is to keep people from having their shackles removed and dancing.
So let's ask ask the Wind to blow in all of these places, bringing new life to all those who are shackled, even when our shackles look different.
