It's reverse culture shock time again!!! The following questions are all things I've noticed the last few days as different here. Let's take a culturally appropriate quiz to see how well you do!!
1. When standing in line, in America you should:
a. nose right up to the people in front of you, elbows out
b. stand back and keep your distance, no one will cut the line here
c. don't stand in line at all, use the cutting skills you learned in China to skip all lines
2. When entering a new public location, in America you should:
a. scan around for the security cameras to make sure you're not compromising others
b. lower your voice and use figurative language to talk about deeper things
c. not care about who's around you: you don't have to be as careful.
3. In America you should:
a. flush the TP
b. put the TP in the trashcan like normal
c. gasp at how much TP all the restrooms have
4. In America to get around you should:
a. call a taxi
b. drive a car
c. wonder where the bus stops are
5. In America upon entering the house you should:
a. immediately remove your outside shoes and look for the house slippers
b. not worry about it: you probably haven't stepped in human feces recently here
6. How tall are most buildings in America?
a. 2 stories, on average
b. at least 3 stories
7. How do most Americans walk their dogs?
a. on a leash
b. just following along the owner
