Can't miss these restaurants!!

When I'm abroad, the thing I miss most is, oddly enough, ethnic foods of all varieties.  Yes, in China I'm eating authentic Chinese all the time, but I miss the wide selection of different foods available in the glorious melting pot of the US!

For those of you here in Indy, here is a list of restaurants I love to go to when I'm home--you should check them out too!!

1.  Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant on W 38th St--get the combo, making sure it includes the lentils.  Eat it communal style, with your hands.  I LOVE this place!!
2.  Indian food--in Carmel Amber Indian restaurant on Carmel Drive and US31 is amazing!  I also love India Palace on Layfayette Road.  Buffet for lunch if you can.
3.  Tamale Place on West Rockville Road.  So delicious!!
4.  Chick Fil A--an American restaurant that is founded on great values.  I eat here multiple times over the summer.
5.  Pupusas--they sell them at the 3in1 stand at the Carmel Farmers market, and there is also a good hole-in-the-wall place on Lafayette and 32nd St, left side of the street when driving south.
6.  The mexican restaurant on the northwest corner of 96th and Allisonville--the tacos are absolutely authentic and to die for!!
7.  Sawadee Thai food on west 86th St.  Massaman curry is my favorite, but Pad Thai is always a good classic.

If you want really good Chinese, there's an authentic place on Lafayette Road called Szechwan Garden.  Get the fried green beans and an eggplant dish, among others.  Expect to eat family style.
