FAQ's

What is your current initial question series? I've been thinking about initial questions: and it seems that they shift according to culture and phase of life. In college, the questions were: 1. What's your name? 2. Where are you from? 3. What's your major? 4. Which dorm do you live in?
For the last few years in Indianapolis, the questions have been 1. What's your name? 2. What do you do? 3. Where did you grow up? 4. Where do you live?
In Latin America, the questions are different. They are: 1. What's your name? 2. How old are you? 3. Do you have a boyfriend? 4. What's your favorite soccer team?

As I prepare to go to China, most people also ask me a question set. In case you haven't heard the answers, here are the questions with their answers!
Are you excited? Yes! I love going new places! But it's hard to leave, I'm nervous about all the details involved in moving, and have lots of varied, mixed emotions. But excitement is one of them.
When do you leave? I leave Indianapolis July 25 for Colorado, and leave Colorado for Beijing August first, and then I leave Beijing for Qinhuangdao (my official city) at the end of August.
Do you speak Chinese? Not yet, but I've got all these cool apps on my Ipad that are helping me with the basics, and I'm sure I'll learn much more quickly once I'm surrounded by it (although it won't be easy even there!)
How are your parents doing with all this? They're excited for me, and planning a visit already!
So those are the basic questions. Many of the other questions I don't even really know the answer to yet, but I will in perhaps another month!
